Registering for Fall 2022 – Session starts Oct 3rd, 2022
We’re excited to announce the return of our ONLINE literacy program, Reading Rocks. Reading Rocks is an 8-week evidence-based, motivational literacy program for children 6-12 years old who struggle with the attainment of early literacy skills due to an identified or suspected learning disability.
Through this effective instructional program, children are paired with a trained tutor who will develop hands-on activities and games to teach the essential literacy concepts of phonics, sight words, and fluency, while building motivation and fostering self-regulation.
In two one-hour online sessions each week, each student will work with their tutor to set goals and graph their success in these areas so they have a clear vision of their achievements.
Date: Starting Oct 3, 2022 Note: No tutoring on Thanksgiving Monday Time: 6:00 – 7:00 pm (Mondays and Wednesdays) Location: Online (via Microsoft Teams) ** Duration: 8 weeks Fees: LDA Member: $225 | Non-Member: $295
*Please note that this session of Reading Rocks is being offered in English only, but we are investigating how we can offer a French program in the future.
**In order to participate, participants must have access to a working device (e.g., computer, tablet, etc.) with microphone, camera, and internet connectivity.
